Manchester Police Charge Man With Burglarizing Pine Lake Park Home, One Suspect Still At Large
Police ask for public's help in locating second suspect
A tip from a Pine Lake Park resident led to the arrest of a Howell Township man for burglary and theft, who was seen fleeing a nearby home, Lt. Vincent Manco said.
The resident called police at 3:07 p.m. on Thursday and reported hearing glass break and then saw a man running with a bag from the home, Manco said.
The resident told police he saw the man who ran from the house get into a black Honda Civic, which then headed toward Route 571, Manco said

Terranova activated his emergency lights as the driver and passenger of the Honda left the vehicle and began walking toward the store. He identified himself and told them to stop.
The passenger, later identified as Christopher Gilman, 36, of Toms River, fled the scene on foot. The driver, identified as John Cofsky, 27, of Howell, was ordered back into the vehicle and cooperated, Manco said.
Police recovered proceeds from the Pine Lake Park burglary in the car, and other items reported stolen on or about April 29 from a residential burglary in Jackson.
Cofsky was charged with burglary and theft, with additional charges pending. His bail was set at $10,000, with no 10 percent option.

Police searched the area for Gilman, who still remains at large. Charges were subsequently filed against Gilman for burglary, theft, and resisting arrest by flight, with additional charges pending. His bail was set at $40,000, with no 10 percent option.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding Gilman’s whereabouts to call 732-657-6111. Callers may remain anonymous.
