Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Commonwealth Boulevard Crash

Police say the crash happened when a vehicle tried to turn into a driveway as the motorcycle approached.

A motorcyclist has been hospitalized after a collision Friday evening that closed part of Commonwealth Boulevard in the Pine Lake Park section for a few hours, Manchester police said Saturday morning.

Paul Bogaski, 49, of Bristol, Pa., was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, by MONOC helicopter for treatment of the injuries he suffered in the crash, Manchester Capt. Todd Malland said.

He was eastbound on a 1998 Harley Davidson on Commonwealth about 7:15 p.m. when Darren Bari, 23, of Manchester, attempted to make a left turn into a driveway of a residence as Bogaski was approaching from the other direction, Malland said. Bari was driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander, Malland said.

The road was closed between Burnside and Pemberton streets while the crash was investigated, Malland said.
