MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Schools are continuing to expand the district's universal preschool program, and are accepting registration for new students on an ongoing basis.

The preschool program launched in October after the district received a grant from the New Jersey Department of Education to provide education to 3- and 4-year-olds in Manchester. It is free for students who live in Manchester.

The plans for the program include six preschool classrooms at Whiting Elementary School, an integrated preschool classroom at Manchester Township Elementary School, and two preschool classrooms at Ridgeway Elementary School. The district also is partnering with Hilltop Nursery School to accommodate additional students.

The goal is for the program to keep growing until all Manchester preschool students have been accommodated, school officials said.

Parents and guardians who want to enroll their child in the preschool program can find information on the school district's website, including a video that explains how to register online and what documents are needed to complete the process.
