UPDATE: All Clear At Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst
Package found to be no threat, according to an announcement on the base's Facebook page

UPDATE: Employees of the Base Exchange and commissary were allowed to return to the buildings later Wednesday evening after the suspicious package was determined to be no threat, according to the base’s Facebook page.
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst first responders terminated the suspicious package alert at 5 p.m. Investigators on site determined the package was non-threatening and cleared Base Exchange and Commissary employees to re-enter the building. All gates have been re-opened since the all-clear.

First responders are investigating a suspicious package found near the commissary at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, according to a post on the base’s Facebook page.
Both the Base Exchange and the commissary were evacuated when the package was discovered, sometime before 3 p.m. according to posts on the page. The base exchange and commissary are on the McGuire-Dix side of the base.

The base’s Wrightstown gate is closed and the 68 Gate has one outbound lane closed, the post said.
