Share Your Skills With Manchester Students In New Volunteer Program
The Manchester Township Schools are inviting residents to join a program that aims to welcome volunteers with skills or expertise to share.
MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township School District is launching a new volunteer program and inviting residents to take part.
"The school district recognizes that the services of volunteers can enrich the educational program, assist and support staff members, and enhance the relationship between the school district and the community," school officials said in announcing the program.
The district aims to place interested volunteers in the school setting that best fits the school’s need for support starting this spring.

"This application further helps us pair community members with the appropriate volunteer placement," the district said.
There will be a brief, required training session for volunteers joining the program that will provide directions for the next steps in getting started.
"We have had tremendous interest from community members who are wanting to share their support for our schools through volunteering," Superintendent John Berenato said. "Educating and supporting our students is a community effort and by launching a formal volunteer program, the school district welcomes Manchester residents to share in support of the education of our students."
Parents of students in the district who want to volunteer are encouraged to join the Manchester Township PTA, which serves all of the district's schools.
