Mother dog Cheery has three puppies, Joy, Jolly, and Jovial. Little Jovial was born with a cleft in his lip, so the students learned how that impacted his growth because Jovial could not nurse correctly.

"This information allowed the students to learn more about the adoption process, the dogs and their conditions, as well as to translate that information into their classroom task which was to create a triple line graph to compare and track the puppy's growth," the district said.

"We are happy to share that All Fur One was able to pay for a surgery to correct Jovial's mouth," the district said. "Although he is still adapting to feeding, he will be up for adoption as soon as he gains a little weight."

LaPorte, an All Fur One volunteer, was instrumental in starting the "All Fur Education" initiative according to All Fur One.
