Welcome to the first full week of 2015. Here’s some things happening in Manchester and nearby this week:

On Monday, the Manchester Township Council holds its reorganization meeting at 10 a.m. at town hall. Councilmen Craig Wallis and Brendan Weiner will be sworn in to new terms on the council, which also will elect a president and vice president.

On Tuesday, the state Department of Community Affairs will be holding a hearing from 4-7 p.m. at Ocean County College on the state’s Action Plan amendment for the third distribution of $501 million in federal funding for Superstorm Sandy recovery and rebuilding. The hearing is on campus at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Performing Arts. You must pre-register to speak at the hearing.

On Wednesday, the Ocean County Board of Freeholders are scheduled to hold their reorganization meeting, 3:30 p.m., at the county administration building at the corner of Hooper Avenue and Washington Street. Joseph Vicari will be sworn in to another term after his re-election in November, and the panel will choose a freeholder director and assistant director for the year ahead, as well as holding a business meeting afterward.

Also on Wednesday, the Manchester Township Board of Education will hold its reorganization meeting beginning at 7 p.m. in the media center at the Ridgeway Elementary School. Jennifer Hudak and Mary Walter will be sworn into new terms on the board, while Jacqueline Paolillo will be sworn in to her first term on the board.
