MANCHESTER, NJ — A woman sitting in the living room of a Whiting home was injured Monday evening when a driver lost control of his car and backed through the wall of the home, Manchester police said.

Gloria Eppig, 57, of Dallas, Texas, was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment and evaluation of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Manchester Capt. Vincent Manco said Tuesday.

She was sitting in the living room of a home on Milford Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Monday when Clyde Jackson, 64, started backing out of his driveway and lost control of the car, his 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis backing through the front wall of the house across the street and into the living room where Eppig was sitting, Manco said.
