750 Decks Of Heroin Found During Manville Drug Bust
2 Newark men were arrested following the drug bust at a fast food restaurant parking lot located on North Main Street in Manville.

MANVILLE, NJ — Two men were arrested and 750 decks of heroin were found following a drug bust in a Manville fast food restaurant parking lot.
Authorities received a tip about a drug deal set to go down at a fast food restaurant parking lot located on North Main Street in Manville on Monday.
At around 3:12 p.m. Narvaez-Mata, 27, of Bloomfield Avenue, Newark arrived at the lot in a Jeep Liberty SUV with passenger Edgar A. Caraballo Jr., 29, of North 5th Street, Newark, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force saw Narvaez-Mata get out of the SUV and enter the restaurant while Caraballo stayed in the parked vehicle. When authorities approached the men, Narvaez-Mata "became combative and purposely disobeyed law enforcement’s commands," Robertson said.
Narvaez-Mata was found to be in possession of about 750 decks of heroin and $278 which was seized as suspected drug proceeds, according to the report.

The heroin seized has an estimated street value of $3,750.
Narvaez-Mata was charged with second-degree, possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) (heroin) with the intent to distribute, second-degree, possession of CDS (heroin) with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest, both disorderly person offenses.
Caraballo Jr. was arrested on an outstanding Paramus Municipal court warrant for failure to appear.
Narvaez-Mata was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing. Caraballo Jr. was released on his own recognizance pending a new Paramus Municipal Court date.
