Funeral Fund Created For Manville Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident

Donations are being collected to help with the memorial, funeral costs for Eric Maliszewski who died in a motorcycle crash in Bridgewater.

MANVILLE, NJ — Eric Maliszewski is described as the "backbone, glue and rock of his family." Maliszewski, 28, of Manville was killed on June 3 after he lost control of his motorcycle and went off the roadway in Bridgewater.

A fundraiser has been set up to help his family with the memorial and funeral costs. Maliszewski left behind his mother Melanie, brother Justin and sister Krystal.

"Eric was an adventurous, spontaneous and hardworking, gentle soul that was always willing to lend a hand. Any memory that Eric was in had left an impact and touched the hearts of many. If Eric was not off fixing cars or bikes he spent his time as a special projects associate for the Somerset County Parks Commission," according to the gofundme site.

"Anyone that crossed paths with Eric was able to see how special and unique his bond was with his friends. New projects, trips and countless outdoor activities, Eric was always there," according to the site.

"Eric was a valued employee and someone who touched the hearts of many through his willingness to help others. He loved to laugh, and was adventurous, spontaneous and a hardworking gentle soul. A loss of one of our employees is a loss for the entire Park Commission family. We offer our sincere condolences to his family," Ray Brown, Secretary Director, Somerset County Park Commission said.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers for those to make a donation to the gofundme established in Maliszewski's name. The fundraiser is looking to raise $10,000 and has already raised $9,045 in one day.
