Manville Man Arrested For Shoplifting Liquor In Raritan: Police
Public urination, driving while intoxicated, assaults and crack cocaine possession were also reported in Raritan.

RARITAN, NJ — Joseph Koscuik Jr., 49, of Manville, was arrested for shoplifting after stealing a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka valued at $14 from Raritan Valley Liquors on Route 206 on Sept. 18, police report.
Officer Christopher Hirsch investigated the incident.

On Sept. 12: Georgios Arvanitakis, 49, of Raritan, was issued a summons for public urination after he was observed by an officer urinating in an alley on West Somerset Street. Officer Andrew Ragati investigated the incident.
On Sept. 12: Bradley Davis, 26, of Bridgewater, was arrested and charged with simple assault after he became involved in an altercation with a patron at Decicco’s Tavern on Anderson Street. The victim along with several other bystanders were able to restrain Davis until police arrived. Sgt. Everett Holt and Officer Andrew Ragati investigated the incident.

On Sept. 14: Richard Johnson, 50, of Raritan, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of the Raritan Borough Municipal Court following a traffic stop on First Avenue. Officer Benjamin Griffin investigated the incident.
On Sept. 16: Samuel Hurling, 56, of Somerville, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (crack-cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on East Somerset Street. During the traffic stop, a crack pipe was found in Hurling’s vehicle. A search of Hurling at headquarters revealed he had concealed two bags of crack in his socks. Officer Benjamin Griffin investigated the incident with the assistance of Somerset County Sheriff’s Officer David Daneker and his K-9 Apex.
On Sept. 16: Kevinlee Almonte, 20, of Raritan, was arrested on warrants out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office and Union City for possession of handgun and theft. Almonte drew officer’s attention when he was seen attempting to gain access to the Raritan Train Station and it was closed. Sgt. Everett Holt and Officer Benjamin Griffin investigated the incident.
On Sept. 17: Jose Munoz-Venegas, 33, of Silver Spring, MD, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Thompson Street. Munoz-Venegas had a blood alcohol content that was nearly twice the legal limit. Sgt. Everett Holt investigated the incident.
On Sept. 17: A 39-year-old Raritan woman and a 19-year-old Raritan man, were both arrested for assault following a domestic violence incident at their residence. The names of each are being withheld due to the incident involving domestic violence. Sgt. James Raniere and Officer Kathleen Sausa investigated the incident.
On Sept. 18: Cole Hutchens, 20, of Bridgewater, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Old York Road. Officer Benjamin Griffin investigated the incident.
On Sept. 18: A 19-year-old Raritan man was arrested for simple assault after he pushed his 18-year-old girlfriend to the ground in the parking lot of Quick Chek. The victim was treated for head and arm injuries. The defendant was taken to the Somerset County jail to await a detention hearing. The names are being withheld due to the incident involving domestic violence. Officer Robert Jones investigated the incident.
