Scammer Claimed Manville Local's Family Was In Accident, Wanted Money: Police
The text message said that a Manville resident's family member had been in an accident and to send money, police report.

MANVILLE, NJ — A Huff Avenue resident reported receiving a text message saying that a family member had been in an accident.
The resident went to Manville Police Headquarters on May 30 at 2:49 p.m. to report the incident.
Patrol confirmed it was a scam and advised the resident not to send any money, police report.

On June 1 at 3:51 a.m.: Matthew Suber, 26, of Manville was arrested on outstanding warrants. He was transported to the Somerset County Jail.

On June 1 at 12:07 p.m.: Patrols respond to the area of North 3rd Avenue on the report of a disorderly person. Patrols subsequently arrest Jared Caruso, 31, of Bound Brook for disorderly conduct. He was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed, charged and released.
On June 1 at 5:03 p.m.: As a result of a motor vehicle stop, patrols subsequently arrest Shana Carreker, 31, of North Plainfield for possession of controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams and possession of paraphernalia. Also arrested was Tyesha Jackson, 32, of Somerville for an outstanding warrant out of Somerville. They were both transported to Police Headquarters where they were processed, charged and released.
On June 2 at 3:45 p.m.: Grace Ross, 40, of Bridgewater was arrested for an outstanding Manville warrant. She was transported to Police Headquarters where she was processed and released.
On, June 2 at 4:36 p.m.: Cody Farrell of Manville posted $300 for an outstanding warrant out of Sayreville. He was processed and released.
On June 3 at 11:11 p.m.: Patrols respond to the area of North Weiss Street and subsequently issue a summons for littering to Valerie Urban of Manville. She was processed and released.
