3 Burglaries From Homes Reported In Maplewood This Month

Three home burglaries were reported in Maplewood in the first two weeks of November.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood police said that residents reported three burglaries at residences during the first two weeks in November. They were:

A Schaefer Road man said that someone stole two dirt bikes from his garage during the overnight hours on Nov. 1, police said. Security footage showed a man in dark clothing removing the bikes, police said.

On Nov. 3, a resident of Winchester Gardens on Elmwood Avenue told police that someone had stolen jewelry valued at $1,500. However, she told police it had been taken some time in October. Police did not release further details.

This past Tuesday, police responded to a burglary in progress on Boyden Avenue. They saw a man leaving with a crowbar, then discovered a cut pipe in the building's basement. Read more on that here: Police Find Gas Pipe Cut After Burglary Call In Maplewood

The police noted on Tuesday, "The Maplewood Police Department works hard to protect the residents and their property. We are asking that you assist us in this effort by making sure all vehicles and homes are properly secured at all times."
