Armed Robbers Arrested After Car Chase, Crash: Maplewood Police
Two handgun-armed men crashed their car in Irvington after a police pursuit, authorities said.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Maplewood Police have arrested two men for the armed robbery at the Springfield Avenue 7-11 on April 14.
According to authorities, shortly before 3 a.m. two men entered the convenience store, displayed a handgun and demanded money.
The two men took money from the registers before fleeing to an awaiting vehicle, police said. A witness observed the robbery and the vehicle flee and contacted the police.

Officers responding to the area observed the suspect vehicle and pursued the vehicle into Irvington where it crashed. Three males fled from the vehicle and two were able to be taken into custody with the assistance of Irvington Police Department, police said.
Police arrested 19-year-old Zahir Dupiche of East Orange and 19-year-old Naeem Jackson of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania and charged them with conspiracy, robbery, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and obstruction of the administration of the law, police said.

Following processing and charging, both were transported to Essex County Jail.
