Avoid Washington Park Area In Maplewood Because Of 'Criminal Activity': Police
The Maplewood police asked residents to avoid the area near Washington Park for now.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Police from Maplewood sent out a message around 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon asking the public to avoid Washington Park, approximately three blocks from South Mountain Reservation, because of "criminal activity."
The message read, "Alert: Criminal activity in the area of Washington Park. Please use caution and plan an alternate route."
In the past, police have sent out similar messages about robberies and a break-in.
