Bicycle Rider Hit By Car, Dragged In Maplewood: Police
Witnesses told police that an SUV hit the cyclist and continued to drive away southbound in the direction of Fernwood Road.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A bicycle rider was struck and dragged by an SUV in Maplewood on Wednesday, authorities say.
Maplewood police officers and the South Essex Fire Department responded to Parker Avenue and Orchard Road around 7 p.m.
Emergency responders provided the injured biker with medical treatment at the scene and transported them to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, police said.

Witnesses told police that a white BMW SUV traveling eastbound on Parker Avenue hit the cyclist and continued to drive away southbound in the direction of Fernwood Road.
Maplewood detectives continue to investigate the incident, police said Thursday. No additional details were immediately available.
