Chris Christie — Go For It!
NJ Governor Chris Christie may run for President! I say, why not?

President Chris Christie.
Hey, stranger things have happened. I mean, President Obama, President George W. Bush, President Ronald Regan, etc. Like the New Jersey Governor, it was once laughable to suggest that those men would someday reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Barack Obama. I remember hearing his name shortly before the 2004 Democratic Primary. That was perhaps the first time I thought to myself, “hey maybe someday this guy can be President.” He made a memorable speech at that convention, catapulting himself onto the national stage. Soon he would become a Senator, then much to the horror of the Clintons, he became President. A nation so dissatisfied with the Republican in the White House, they gave a political novice the green light.

W, I mean, who in their right mind thought this guy could win? We knew he was a recovering alcoholic, we knew of his frat boy past and we knew that most people who knew the Bush family felt it was Jeb, not George who would be the rising star.
A nation still reeling from Monica Lewinsky, so by a few hanging chads, we gave W the job of all jobs. Sorry Al, you would have been great!

Reagan, he was an actor, and an average one at that with a C- average in College. To think that he would someday become the Republican version of FDR, well, really who knew? But with just Jimmy Carter in the way, well, even Senator Ted Kennedy hated him.
So, now we have Chris Christie, the portly, plain speaking New Jersey freshman Governor giving serious consideration to a run. He’s clearly looking at the field and thinking, Perry, well, he’s beatable since he’s already beating himself. Romney, well his track record of success in Massachusetts just happens to be his biggest obstacle in getting the GOP nomination. Michelle Bachman? Please. Who’s left, Ron Paul?
If it comes down to Christie vs Obama in 2012, well, I think I can live with that. I think you can too. Throw your hat into the ring, Governor. The timing just may be right.
