Real Parents, Real Daughters is a workshop for 6th and 7th grade girls and their parents to have fun together and establish healthy practices with respect to challenging social situations, recognizing true friendship, conflict resolution, and dealing with making mistakes and owning up. For over ten years, the Girls Leadership Institute has helped thousands of girls learn about themselves, how to express how they feel, what they think, what they need and how to act for themselves and in their relationships. The Girls Leadership Institute was co-founded by Rachel Simmons, author of best-selling books Odd Girl Out and The Curse of the Good Girl. As part of the official GLI programming Launch in New Jersey, Simmons will be giving a free parent/daughter talk titled “Leadership for Life” at Columbia High School on Oct 4th. The Adult School’s Real Parents, Real Daughters workshop begins on October 23 and runs four Tuesdays from 7-8:30pm. The $195 fee covers one parent and one daughter.
