Clinton School 5th Graders Share Toy Inventions

Clinton 5th Graders Display Toy Inventions

Thanks to the innovative 5th grade Language Arts Enrichment curriculum, students at Clinton School, under the direction of enrichment teacher Carissa Stanczak, held a toy fair on March 8.

The students worked in groups to develop ideas for toys and then made the toys using mostly recycled materials. The students had to design the toys, create a marketing plan, and designed an accompanying poster and promotional brochure.  Some of the toy design involved students incorporating what they knew about physics and simple machines as well as just plain fun.

Students from other grades were able to tour the fair and try out the toys. Each received a ticket to enter in the bucket of his or her favorite toy, and the lucky winners whose tickets were drawn got to take the one-of-a-kind toys home.
