Life with Jonesey
Gareth Jones, actor, writer, comedian, storyteller, and Deadgood man and his hectic life.
Well, I'm new to this blogging lark, so bear with me. I expect we'll get later to the strange and twisted paths which have brought my life to its current exciting state.
There's a ton of stuff going on, but for this first post, I'm going to stick with what's happening today (Tuesday March 26th), because it's the first time I've exercised so many of my skills on the one stage in the one night.
Tonight I get to show off my stand-up, my acting, and my writing too.

It's the NYC premiere of Bev Bonner's exciting evening Casey - 30 years Later. It's at the Broadway Comedy Club, on 53rd St, and it's a great show.
There's three parts to the evening. First, there's a bunch of opening acts, including yours truly doing some comedy. If you've seen me before, you might be surprised by this outing - it's not my usually squeaky(ish) clean(ish) material, so watch out.

Then there's a showing of the 1982 cult comedy horror movie, Basket Case. Starring Bev Bonner as "Casey".
And then there's Bev Bonner's play Casey 30 years later in which we see what's happened to Casey and the Basket afer all this time. I play Ernie English, the most regular customer at Casey's establishment where mature Ladies of the Evening cater to their customers' tastes. Ernie is a character which I invented and wrote myself, and sorta shoehorned into Bev's play. It was very interesting to not only write for someone else, but to fit my writing into an existing work. Once again, this is racier than my normal family-friendly style, by a long long way.
Come and see for yourselves. Tickets from smarttix, show begins at 7pm. Oh, and tell 'em you've come to see me - it'll mean extra money for me, and I know you approve of that.
In coming blogs, I'll tell you how this show is going, tell you about my foray into Shakespeare, give you advance notice of this year's "Panto", introduce you to Lord Watchout, and the Great Big Quiz Show, and, oh, a ton of other stuff.
Talk to you soon.
