Lo Stuto Endorses Jennifer Payne-Parrish, Karen Swanson and Amy Higer

I am writing to endorse Jennifer Payne-Parrish, Tia (Karen) Swanson and Amy

Higer for Board of Education. I believe that these candidates are what we need for our two towns.   All three are extremely engaged in our communities and schools through their volunteerism. They also bring a lot to the table with their educational backgrounds, Tia as a professional writer, Jennifer as a working research scientist and Amy as a professor of political science.

Tia, Jennifer and  Amy will represent all of our children’s interests, All three were strong supporters of the secondary school transformation proposals which seek to ensure that all children in the district are fully prepared for college. I believe they are the best candidates to see these new initiatives through, including the recently-adopted IB program, because they are the candidates with the strongest desire to see them succeed.

They will hold the administration accountable for successfully meeting all of our district goals and our principals and teachers accountable for a successful implementation of the proposals just adopted.

Tia, Jennifer and Amy understand the budget and the importance of balancing our many unmet educational needs with an already overwhelmng local tax burden.

Tia, Jennifer and Amy are innovative in their thinking and ideas. They will support our teachers in becoming the best possible teachers they can be.

Please join me in re-electing two-term Board member Jennifer Payne-Parrish and electing newcomers Tia (Karen) Swanson and Amy Higer to the Board of Education.
