Please join me in voting for Higer, Payne-Parrish and Swanson on Tuesday

Do you want to repeal Obamacare before it begins? I don’t. And the reason helps explain why I am voting for Amy Higer, Jennifer Payne-Parrish and Karen (Tia) Swanson for the Board of Education — and why you should too. What’s the connection? It’s simple. Obamacare is a historic milestone in the effort to provide healthcare for all Americans — no magic bullet by itself, and not the end of the story, but a proud move in the right direction for our country. By the same token, the initiatives that our District has just undertaken -- Leveling UP, IB Curriculum, improvements in literacy, climate and behavior in all our schools — are long overdue efforts to remove critical barriers to learning, both institutional and behavioral, for all our students. The new initiatives are not magic bullets, but they are major steps in the right direction – and this progress is at risk in Tuesday’s School Board election.  I’m endorsing Higer, Payne-Parrish and Swanson for Board of Education, because they support — and will help implement, not blindly but critically -- the District and Superintendent’s new initiatives.
