Your Employment Matters

Over the years, I've given career advice and other employment-related guidance as an attorney, an executive, a human resources professional, a family member, and a friend. In the interest of full disclosure, I admit I haven't always followed the advice I've given.  There is more than one reason I didn't, but the primary reason was simply ignorance.  I didn't know better. 

I wasn't always aware of the "do's and don'ts," which demonstrates that education isn't enough, skill and training aren't enough, networks alone aren't enough and intelligence isn't enough.  All these things help, but I learned a great deal from personal experience, including making mistakes, and from others who generously shared their experience with me.

Through my blog, I'll share my point of view (POV) about what I call "The New Employment Reality" and my efforts to help people navigate what I think will be a constantly changing employment terrain.  I hope I can offer an off-road vehicle of sorts that will make the journey less bumpy.
