"Delightfully Strange" Art Opening

THE ART GENERATORS PRESENT “DELIGHTFULLY STRANGE,” A CELEBRATION OF THE WEIRD, WONDERFUL AND UNEXPECTED

New group exhibition opens Friday, October 2, featuring affordable original artwork by local artists

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Art Generators (TAG) return this October with “Delightfully Strange,” a new group exhibition celebrating artwork that leans into the unusual, curious, surreal, eccentric and wonderfully weird.

The exhibition opens Friday, October 2, from 6–8 PM at The Art Generators’ pop-up gallery at 14 Newark Way in Maplewood, presented in partnership with Artie’s.

Featuring work by local and regional artists, Delightfully Strange invites visitors into a collection that steps outside the expected. From playful oddities and dreamlike imagery to darker curiosities and work that simply refuses to fit neatly into a box, the show celebrates artists willing to get a little strange.

As with TAG’s previous exhibitions and art markets, accessibility remains central to the project. The gallery brings together original artwork at a wide range of affordable price points, creating opportunities for new collectors to bring home original art while directly supporting working artists in the community.

The opening reception is on Friday, October 2, from 6–8 PM and is free and open to the public.

Delightfully Strange will remain on view through the end of October. Regular gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 4:30–8:30 PM.

The Art Generators are also currently accepting submissions for their November exhibition, “Roots.” Local artists interested in exhibiting are invited to submit their work at theartgenerators.com/submit-your-art.

The Art Generators is an artist-led collective founded by Ken Stanek, Sumana Ghosh Witherspoon, Magie McGowan and Natalie Crandall, creating approachable opportunities for artists to exhibit and sell their work while making original art more accessible to the surrounding community. Through exhibitions, workshops, and other events, TAG is building a welcoming space where artists, collectors, and neighbors can connect through art.
