Elderly Essex County Man Murdered In His Home: Prosecutor

The 90-year-old man's death was caused by compression of the throat and fracture of the larynx, authorities say.

Authorities are investigating the murder of a 90-year-old Essex County man found dead in his East Orange home on Tuesday evening.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, a family member found Henry Boyd unresponsive in his South Harrison Avenue apartment. Emergency medical personnel were called and Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an autopsy on Wendesday, Boyd’s death was ruled a homicide that was caused by compression of the throat and fracture of the larynx.
