Not everything herbal or natural is good for us -- some of the most beautiful plants are quite toxic. On Sunday, January 22 at 2:00 p.m. retired internist Sandra Moss will reveal, from hemlock to lobelia, foxglove to rhubarb, just how various plant toxins affect the body through her lavishly illustrated presentation. Surprising facts on garden flora that she will dispense range from the dangers of “mushroom roulette”, to the deadly nightshades - and to a nasty fungus hiding on your roses. Along the way, Dr. Moss, an expert in medical history, will describe some of the fascinating herbal remedies used by nineteenth-century American physicians.
