Philadelphia Flower Show – Hawaii: Islands of Aloha

The Maplewood Garden Club will be travelling on March 6th to the spectacular Philadelphia Flower Show. Known as the Nation’s Flower Show, this year’s show theme Hawaii: Islands of Aloha will present a tropical experience that blends next-stage digital technology with the natural beauty and rich culture of the islands. This will not be your grandmother’s flower show! Interactive and experimental, visitors will be completely immersed in this once-in-a-lifetime presentation. They will feel like they are walking across the beaches, rainforests and mountains of the Hawaiian Islands. Gardeners will find an ocean of ideas in free lectures and demonstrations. Non-gardeners can enjoy hula, music, fire dancing performances, or a ‘man cave’ filled with all the trappings of a happy hideaway. A Luxury coach will depart from the Maplewood Pool parking lot at 12 pm Tuesday, March 6, and return to Maplewood at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $54 per person and include transportation and entry to the flower show. Reservations are on a first come first served basis, with a check payable to Maplewood Garden Club, mailed to Ellie Winslow, 16 South Crescent, Maplewood, NJ 07040 (please include your phone number). Ellie can also be contacted at 973-762-8486 or at ewinslow16@gmail.com.
