DR. FRANK ARGOTE-FREYRE is an assistant professor of Latin American History at Kean University and author of several books, including A Brief History of the Caribbean. Prior to embarking on scholarly pursuits, Dr. Argote-Freyre worked as a journalist and as a congressional press secretary. He is strongly involved in the struggle for immigrant rights.
