Store Employees Run For Cover As 4 Men Steal Purses At Short Hills Mall: Police

Employees took shelter in the back of a store at the Short Hills Mall when 4 men in dark clothing grabbed $120K in purses, police said.

MILLBURN, NJ — Employees of the Dior store at the Mall at Short Hills took cover on Monday morning when four men in dark clothing entered the store to commit a theft, the Millburn police said Tuesday.

Millburn police officers responded around 10:44 a.m. Monday to Dior at the mall on report of a theft in progress, police said.

Dior associates told police that four males wearing dark clothing and masks entered the store and began pulling handbags off the wall.

"Dior associates ran to a back room for safety and called police," police said. "When the police arrived, the actors had already fled in a black SUV."

They had stolen 25 Dior purses, worth $120,000, police said.

A social media influencer posted this video on Monday that appears to show the theft.

The Millburn Police Detective Bureau is investigating.
