Friends of Arts Unbound Exhibit and Reception

Twenty-four local artists are supporting visual artists with disabilities through an exhibit and sale of their own art. Six Maplewood residents are part of the group.

Arts Unbound, a studio and gallery in Orange dedicated to teaching and promoting artists with disabilities, will host and benefit from the exhibit.

The “Friends of Arts Unbound” exhibit opens April 2nd at the Arts Unbound Gallery located at 544 Freeman Street in the Valley Arts District in Orange. On April 12th, the public can meet the artists and enjoy refreshments during an open reception from 6pm to 9pm. The exhibit will run through April 30th during regular gallery hours.

Artists included in the show are Dawan Alford, Terry Boddie, Kathy Cantwell, Susan Faiola, Ryan Faulkner, Dan Fenelon, Dorothy Ganek, Joan Goldsmith, Susan C. Harris, Rick Hauser, Kathleen Heron, Paul King, Steven Langehough, Gayle Mahoney, Kimberly Maier, Michael Malbrough, Jeremy Moss, Bob O’Brien, Lisa Pressman, Humberto Ramos, Robert Ramos, Toni Thomas, Raúl Villarreal, Fran Wilner, and Alan Wood. 

Paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and crafts will all be on display and available for sale. Affordable stationery, art, and jewelry by Arts Unbound artists are always on sale in the gallery.

Arts Unbound is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the artistic achievement of youth, adults and senior citizens with disabilities.  Through professional classes in the visual arts and exhibitions in their gallery, the organization provides skill development and income opportunities for emerging and established artists with special needs.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm, and weekends by appointment.www.artsunbound.org  (Arts Unbound – 973-675-2787).
