Gunpoint Robbery In Front Of Maplewood Home Halloween Morning: Police

A man was robbed at gunpoint on a residential street in Maplewood on Halloween morning by four men, police say.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A man told the Maplewood police that he was robbed at gunpoint on Halloween morning on a residential street.

Police said that on Monday (Oct. 31), at 6:48 a.m., the department received a call of a man being assaulted on Meadowbrook Place.

When police responded, a man in his forties told police he was approached by a black sedan and robbed at gunpoint.

According to police, three to four men got out of the vehicle, with one brandishing a handgun, and physically assaulted the victim, "throwing him to the ground."

The man's wallet, cellphone, and keys were taken, police said.

The suspects were seen leaving in the black sedan, heading toward Elmwood Avenue, police said.

The man had swelling around his left eye, but declined medical attention, police said.
