Masks Are Back: Mandate Continues At Maplewood Middle School

The Maplewood Middle School principal said there has been a COVID-19 outbreak "identified among all grades recently," so masks are back.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Masking mandates will continue at Maplewood Middle School through at least this Thursday, said a letter from the school principal to district parents Thursday.

"This letter is to inform you that there has been an uptick in cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), as well as an outbreak identified among all grades recently," said Dara Gronau, the principal, in a letter this past Thursday. "Please note that delivery of instruction will continue as normal; however, the Maplewood Department of Health is requiring a return to universal masking INDOORS AND ON THE BUS for all MMS students and staff through June23, 2022. We plan to return to mask optional indoors June 24, 2022."
