Man Jumps Fence, Drives Car Out Of Maplewood Tow Yard: Police
The Maplewood police released reports from the first half of April, including car thefts and burglaries.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood police responded to a call from a local tow yard on April 1 and arrested a Union resident for burglary, they said.
Police said that on April 1, Maplewood Detective Zuhowski responded to Seton Towing, located at 31 Newark Way, on a report of a burglary.
They found out that an unknown person jumped over the front fence and removed a Nissan Maxima from the yard, police said.

"The vehicle was driven through the front gate upon leaving the yard," police said.
After an investigation by Detective Zuhowski, he identified and charged Hasson Jackson, 37, of Union for burglary, criminal mischief, and theft, police

Police also noted these reports from early April:
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle on Boyden Avenue and removed a pocketbook on April 2, between 1 and 1:20 p.m., police said.
Police said someone stole an unlocked Jeep Cherokee from a driveway on Harvard Avenue on Tuesday, April 4, between 9 p.m. and 10:35 p.m.
The same day, between 10:11 a.m. and 11:48 a.m., an unknown person entered and removed a wallet from an unlocked Dodge Ram that was parked on Irvington Avenue, police said.
On April 5, after an investigation, Det. Rella arrested a 14-year-old boy from Newark in connection with a burglary on March 6 on Fairview Terrace. He was charged with burglary, conspiracy, and theft. Charges are pending against a 17-year-old as well, police said.
