Maplewood School Reverses Pick Up Procedure: ID Not Required Anymore, Report Says
A spokeswoman said that issues with the new policy became apparent on the first day of school, a report says.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — School administrators at Seth Boyden Elementary in Maplewood have reversed a new policy that required guardians to present photo identification when they picked up their students, a report says.
School spokeswoman Suzanne Turner told NJ.com that issues with the new policy – which temporarily went into effect on Tuesday – the first day of school – immediately became apparent.
New principal Damion Frye offered his “sincerest apology” in a note to guardians the next day reversing the policy. According to the most recent policy, parents and people named as a student’s emergency contact will not have to show identification on pick up, NJ.com reported.
