NJ Assemblyman Will Host ‘Know Your Rights’ About ICE Workshop
"Learn what to do if ICE comes to your home, workplace, or stops you in public."
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A state lawmaker from Essex County will be joining with local immigration advocates to hold a virtual “Know Your Rights” training session on Tuesday, March 17.
New Jersey Assemblyman Chigozie Onyema (NJ-28) will be among the hosts of the webinar, which will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Learn more or register for the virtual workshop here.

“Learn what to do if ICE comes to your home, workplace, or stops you in public. We’ll cover your constitutional rights, how to identify valid warrants, and how to create a family preparedness plan. Open to immigrants, allies, and community members who want to stay informed and keep our communities safe.”
Onyema – a Democrat who represents Irvington, Maplewood, Newark, South Orange and Hillside – will be hosting the seminar along with Climate Revolution Action Network, New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice, SOMA Action, Essex County Young Democrats, Maplewood Democrats, and Unified Vailsburg Services Organization.
