Opening Day at The Maplewood Community Pool
The pool doors opened at 10 a.m. on the dot to welcome swimmers to another summer at the town pool.
The Maplewood Community Pool opened its doors today to another summer of fun-filled days. Swimmers and sunbathers of all ages braved the chilly water as they became reacquainted with neighbors from summers past. Although the day started with a sparse attendance, the crowds soon came and laughter and screams of joy were heard all around as the first day got off to a great start.
The pool is open every day through Labor Day, September 6. Weekend and holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Weekday hours are noon to 8 p.m. The pool will close at 5 p.m. on August 3 for staff training. The pool does close a bit early on September 6, at 7:45 p.m.—but that seems a long way away!
If you still need your photo ID for the pool (and you will need your photo ID to get into the pool whether you are an adult or child), you need to obtain it at the new Recreation Department offices at Town Hall on Valley Street. Photos are not being taken at the pool. Hours for photos are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To deal with the start-of-season crush, additional hours have been slated for 5-8:30 p.m. on June 22 through June 25; 7-9 a.m. on June 28, 29 and July 1 and 2; and 5-8:30 p.m. June 29 through July 1.
