• When Will Essex County Pick Up Leaves? See the 2026 Schedule. (montclairlocal.news) — Maplewood residents now have the official Essex County leaf pickup dates for county roads: Nov. 2-6, Nov. 30-Dec. 4, and Dec. 28-31. You're asked to use biodegradable bags or curbside piles set out no more than a week in advance and at least 10 feet from storm drains, with questions directed to the county public works office.

District leaders are weighing those concerns against efforts to improve equity and access to advanced courses for Black, low-income, and neurodivergent students, and may revisit how labs, lunch space, and custodial support are structured.
