Police Seek Suspect In Maplewood Break-In Attempt Early Monday Morning
A homeowner encountered someone trying to get into the window early Monday morning in Maplewood.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood police are seeking a suspect after a homeowner encountered a stranger in their first-floor window.
Around 12:52 a.m. on Monday May 8, police say, they responded to a residence on Plymouth Avenue on a report of an attempted burglary.
The homeowner told police that a man tried to get in through an unlocked first-floor window.

When the suspect was alerted to the homeowner's presence, he fled, police said.
The suspect was described as "a black male approximately 5’9” -5’11” in height, wearing a sweatshirt, gray colored sweatpants, and white socks."

The person did not get inside the home and the homeowner wasn't injured.
