[PHOTOS] Santa Cruzan Festival at St. Joseph's Church
Annual celebration features crowning of the Virgin Mary.
St. Joseph's Church in Maplewood had its annual May Crowning and Santa Cruzan Festival on Saturday. The event featured a recitation of the Holy Rosary and Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary followed by Holy Mass and a Procession around the streets surrounding the church. It culminated with fellowship, food and dance in Bernard Hall.
The Santacruzan is a popular religious festival celebrated by many Filipinos around the world as the highlight of the month-long celebration of Flores de Mayo in May, according to Wikipedia.
