Seven candidates have filed for three open seats.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Seven candidates have filed for three open seats on the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education, igniting a race leading into the November election, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office.

This year the seats of Stephanie Lawson-Muhammad of Crest Drive, Johanna Wright of Reynolds Place and Susie Adamson are up for grabs according to the filing paperwork. Adamson is not on the list to run this year but incumbents Lawson-Muhammad and Wright are so they are looking to retain their seats on the nine member board.

Looking to take their spots on the dais are Narda Chisholm-Greene of Ward Place, Thair Joshua of Center Street, Erin Siders of Irvington Avenue, Carey P. Smith of Underhill Road and Sharon Tanenbaum Kraus of Mayhew Drive.
