Turtle Back's 'Holiday Lights' Continue Through Jan. 2
Five more nights to enjoy the show from 5-9 p.m.!
"There is still time to experience the magic of the Holiday Lights Spectacular," reports Essex County Exec. Joe DiVincenzo. And now is the just the right time: "The busy time leading up to the holidays have passed and the Zoo has been dug out from the recent winter storm. Now is the perfect time to visit the zoo, take advantage of the free admission and enjoy an evening strolling along the pathways and admiring the colorful lights," DiVincenzo said.
More than 40 holiday-themed animals and figures are on display in the county's event and more than 100,000 lights illuminate figures of bears, tigers and elephants, along with light figures designed to look like wooden soldiers, stars and winter scenes. Several animal exhibits will be open, including the Essex Farm, Tam-ring Gibbons Reserve, Tropical Currents Aquarium and the Reptile Building. Myrtle the Turtle, the mascot of Turtle Back Zoo, and several of his winter friends will be on hand to greet visitors at the Zoo.
"Holiday Lights" is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Jan. 2. Admission is free.
