Restaurant Shooting In Maplewood As 3 Killed In NJ Gun Violence

A manhunt for a suspect is underway after more details about the victim in a weekend restaurant shooting death were revealed Sunday. It was the third possible death reportedly involving weekend New Jersey gun violence that prompted a search for suspects.

Altariq A. Brown, 30, of Livingston was shot at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:35 pm.

No suspects were arrested as of Sunday at noon, and an investigation is active and ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The shooting death happened hours after a man was found shot to death at a creek in New Jersey this weekend, according to authorities.

The victim, who was not identified, is believed to be in his early 20s, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. A search for possible suspects is underway.

At 2:45 pm on Saturday, members of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force responded to the area of Assunpink Boulevard and 6th Avenue in Hamilton Township, where they found the man on the embankment of Assunpink Creek.

Also, a 42-year-old man has been charged in connection with a double shooting that killed a woman on Saturday.

Euclide D. Valerio-Guzman of Irvington, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. Adrianna Rodriguez, 27, of Newark was killed while another woman was hospitalized in critical condition.
