Water Main Break In Maplewood: Town Gives Repair Estimate
The town of Maplewood gave an estimate for repairs, amid predicted harsh weather later this evening.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ —The town of Maplewood issued an alert after 1:30 p.m. on Saturday saying that due to a water main break, some homes may not have water. However, repairs were in progress.
"Be advised that due to a water main break and other structural issuesm a portion of Maplewood homes are currently without water," the town said. "This may last up to 4 hours.
"New Jersey American Water is on scene and is working diligenlty to perform repairs. Be further advised that the Maplewood Fire Department is on scene and has the resources to protect the community in the event their services are necessary."

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service had issued a hazardous weather outlook and wind advisory for Essex, Hudson, Union, Passaic, and Bergen counties starting at 3 p.m. Saturday and running through 4 a.m. Sunday morning.
"Southwest winds 15 to 25 m.p.h. with gusts up to 50 m.p.h. expected," noted the advisory. "Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

The NWS noted, "Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a highprofile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects."
"In addition," said the hazardous weather outlook, "heavier showers and thunderstorms this evening could produce damaging wind gusts to near 60 m.p.h."
