• Off-Duty Fire Captain Helps Fight Jersey Shore House Fire (patch.com) — A recent house fire in Margate City drew quick action from local firefighters and unexpected help from an off-duty Atlantic City fire captain who spotted smoke and jumped in barefoot to assist. The blaze on Granville Avenue caused extensive damage but, importantly for neighbors, no one was injured and crews rapidly brought the fire under control. 
• Jewish Family Service 2026 Turkey Drive (downbeachbuzz.com) — Jewish Family Service is running its annual Turkey Drive, with donations and volunteer help coordinated through its Margate office on North Jerome Avenue. Residents can sponsor full meals, fill bags with side dishes, or give grocery gift cards so local families can afford a full Thanksgiving dinner, while volunteers are also needed to sort, pack, and deliver food.
