Aberdeen Police Blotter: Marlboro Resident Charged With DWI

Aberdeen police investigated shoplifting cases at a supermarket, DWI cases on Route 35 and a mystery shopper scam, authorities said.

Aberdeen police recently investigated shoplifting cases at a supermarket, DWI cases on Route 35 and a mystery shopper scam, authorities said.

Between March 25 and March 31, Aberdeen officers responded to or initiated 381 calls for service, including a dozen suspicious persons or vehicles, 17 alarms, 22 first aid calls, four motor vehicle crashes, two disorderly persons cases, one domestic violence incident, ten thefts, two noise complaints, one burglary, two fraud cases, five welfare checks, and 166 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 152 motor vehicle summonses.

March 25

A 35-year-old Elizabeth man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court. Officer Mary Johnston was the arresting officer.

Officer Raymond Campbell arrested a 28-year-old Middletown man on a contempt warrant out of Monmouth County Superior Court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 35.

Officer Edgar Serrano responded to a report of a simple assault on South Atlantic Avenue near Bechstein Drive
.

Loss prevention personnel from the ShopRite store on Lloyd Road reported several instances of shoplifting committed by the same female suspect over the past several weeks. Detective Anthony Valentino is investigating.

March 26

Mark N. Giannotti, 37, of Old Bridge, was charged with driving while intoxicated, use of a cell phone while driving, and reckless driving following a motor vehicle stop on Route 35. Officer Charles Trucillo was the arresting officer.

A resident of Avalon apartments on Central Avenue reported receiving threatening verbal and text messages. Officer Hank Chevalier investigated.

March 27

A 26-year-old Staten Island man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court. Officer Jessica McDougall was the arresting officer.

A resident of Wellington Place reported someone used her grandson’s social security number to open a cellular phone account. Officer Christopher DeSarno took the report.


March 28

James E. Adams III, 28, of Wicker Place, Marlboro, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, driving while suspended, reckless driving, and other motor vehicle offenses following a motor vehicle crash Route 35. There were no reported injuries. Officer Jessica McDougall was the arresting officer. Cliffwood Volunteer Fire Company, Aberdeen Township Hose and Chemical, and the township building official also responded.


A 23-year-old South Amboy man was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several motor vehicle offenses following a motor vehicle stop on Shore Concourse. Officer John Zeller was the arresting officer.

A 1999 Honda Accord was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Tab Ramos Sports Center, Blair Road. Officer John Zeller took the report.



March 29

A 27-year-old Colts Neck woman was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court. Officer Hank Chevalier was the arresting officer. 


A 50-year-old Middletown woman was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Red Bank municipal court. Officer Jessica McDougall was the arresting officer.

A male tried to steal more than $400 worth of merchandise from the ShopRite store on Lloyd Road. When confronted by store security, he fled in a beige car, leaving the merchandise behind. Officer Hank Chevalier investigated.


A resident of Arbordale Drive reported she had received a check from Mystery Shoppers Providers Association, which she deposited. She was instructed to wire an amount of money to the association. Then, she learned the original check was fraudulent. Officer Jessica McDougall took the report.


March 30

A resident of Delaware Avenue reported receiving harassing text messages. Officer Craig Hausmann responded.


A Cypress Lane resident reported the theft of cash while shopping at the ShopRite on Lloyd Road. Officer Darryl Richardson took the report.

March 31

Sgt. Michael Lasko arrested a 35-year-old Hazlet man on a contempt warrant out of Middletown municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 35.


A Taft Place resident reported someone entered his vehicle and took a rucksack and some clothing. Officer Darryl Richardson responded.


Officer Matthew McDow responded to a report of suspicious persons on Arbordale Drive.
