Alan Kurlander Ranks Among Top U.S. Real Estate Agents In Real Trends "The Thousand" Report

Kurlander achieved several additional recognitions based on his 2014 sales accomplishments

MARLBORO, N.J. (August 5, 2015) — Alan Kurlander, a Manalapan resident and sales associate affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Marlboro/Manalapan, has been named among the top real estate agents in the country in the 2015 Wall Street Journal Real Trends “The Thousand” report.

Kurlander ranked No. 224 on the REAL Trends report’s Top 250 Ranking of Individuals for Transaction Sides, attaining an impressive 132 transaction sides in 2014. In the Real Trends report, individual real estate agents and teams are each ranked separately in the categories of closed sales volume and closed transactions sides for the prior year. Only 250 agents or teams make each list. According to the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials, there are about 2 million active real estate licensees in the United States.

“Alan has built his success based on his relentless drive toward customer satisfaction and the fact that he is truly a caring individual. He gets results, and is there for his clients through every step of the process, seven days a week. I am very proud of him for his prestigious accomplishments,” said Hal Maxwell, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y.

Kurlander also ranked among the top agents in New Jersey on the 2015 REAL Trends America’s Best Real Estate Agents list. He was listed at No. 4 based on closed transaction sides and No. 5 based on closed sales volume. To be considered, individual agents had to close more than 50 transaction sides or $20 million in sales volume for 2014, and sales teams had to close more than 75 transaction sides or $30 million in sales volume for 2014.

Kurlander achieved several additional recognitions based on his 2014 sales accomplishments: He was the No. 1 agent in total units sold out of more than 3,000 sales associates affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. He placed higher than any other agent in the company for closed sales volume and closed transactions sides in New Jersey, according to Real Trends. Kurlander was honored with the Coldwell Banker International President’s Premier Award, an honor given to the top 1 percent of approximately 87,000 Coldwell Banker affiliated sales associates worldwide. New Jersey Realtors presented him with the NJAR Circle of Excellence Sales Award at the uppermost Platinum Level for 2014, the fourth consecutive year he has won the award at that level. For the fifth year in a row, New Jersey Monthly Magazine acknowledged Kurlander for his exceptional service as one of its Five Star Real Estate Agents.

Kurlander entered real estate with a business background and the philosophy that “you need to spend money to make money.” In his first week, he invested in a billboard advertising his services. His marketing efforts and tireless work ethic immediately paid off, launching a successful career that has placed him among the best in the industry.

But the truest success Kurlander found in real estate was a passion for this business. “I can eat, drink and talk real estate all day. It’s second nature. I love it,” said Kurlander. “Other jobs I’ve had were a means to an end. I pinch myself every day that I found a business I love and do well at. I can’t wait to get up in the morning and come to work.” Part of that joy is the other agents he works with, who share a camaraderie despite competing with one another, said Kurlander.

Kurlander said the customer service aspect of real estate is like no other industry. “It’s an amazing thing,” he said. “You’re working with people who are going through the stress of making one of the most important purchases in their lifetime. You help keep them calm and see the value and educate them. There’s no greater feeling than when you get someone who writes back to you to thank you for making their dream possible and for having been a part of it.”

Kurlander has been with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage his entire real estate career. “I think Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is a very professional company. Their standards are very high, and management is exceptional. They were very supportive of me from day one,” he said.
