Announcement of Candidacy for the Monmouth county commission

I'm Eduardo Castillo, a resident of Marlboro, partner to a very lovely girl, and retail worker, just trying to make ends meet, like everyone else. I'm not cosplaying, I am a working class American, I've worked over 6 retail jobs, and I'm currently a retail worker, as of the writing of this post. I know what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck, to stress over bills that need to get paid, to be concerned over a lack of personal time, inability to connect with strangers, and family more, due to the constant excess of work. I know what it's like to pay hundreds in groceries, to go fill up gas, and have it be over 50 dollars, to worry about medical debt that keeps racking up, I am there, and I think we should do better, and that we can do better here, in Monmouth county.

I'm 22 years old, I'm young enough to do, but with the lived experience, as espoused previously, I'm also seasoned as well. This isn't a campaign about old, vs young, I relate more, and connect with people much older than me, I respect them, and I don't think age defines who you are, but ideas do, and that's what I'm here to do, to present ideas that are fresh, but reasonable as well. I'm running in the Democratic primary as a Democrat, but before all, I'm a son, a brother, a partner, a New Jerseyan, but an American, most of all. I believe in the promise of America, and together we can reach our fullest potential, as we always had.

As county commissioner, I would be limited in the powers that I would be granted by the people, but there's a lot that we can do, such as managing the county budget, overseeing county departments, passing county wide ordinances, appointing heads of various departments, and overseeing various, essential county functions, such as education, public safety, social services, health, and public works. There's a lot we can do, despite our limitations, and with the powers granted to that office, we can, and will do a lot to combat the cost of living, and make Monmouth county the number one place to live in New Jersey. Let's make Monmouth greater, let's make Monmouth bigger, let's make Monmouth number one, like I know we should, and can be. Together we can do it, thank you.
