The children at The Goddard School of Morganville are being engaged with STEAM activities - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math!

At The Goddard School located at 50 County Rd 520 (next to TD Bank) in Morganville, our Kindergarten children enjoyed a week of robotics and they were so intrigued, they decided to build their own classroom robot. First, the classroom all chipped in to gather enough recyclable supplies to create their life size robot.
The group quickly learned that they would need to use their math skills to be successful. They experimented with different shapes for the body and limbs until he was able to stand. Spatial relationship skills were used to correctly proportion the robot. They learned that symmetry would be important in order for the robot to stand tall. They got creative with paint and decorated the top of the robot with multiple antennae. Lastly, they voted as a group and decided his name would be Rusty.
All summer long, the campers are being engaged with STEAM activities- Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Keeping their interest in these subject areas is important over the summer months. STEAM skills are vital for success in the 21st century and critical to our collective future. The “Critical C’s” of Collaboration, Cooperation and Communication are emphasized through project-based learning, usually through interdisciplinary (across subjects) activities.
