The state Department of Law and Public Safety on Friday released the 2013 Uniform Crime Report. The data shows New Jersey’s overall crime rate decreased by seven percent in 2013, compared to 2012, according to a news release from the state.

In Colts Neck, there were 3 violent crimes reported in 2013, down from 7 in 2012. The per capita violent crime rate was 0.3 percent in 2013, compared to 0.7 percent the previous year.

There were 91 non-violent crimes reported in 2013, down from 92 the previous year. The per capita non violent crime rate was 9.0 percent in 2013, compared with 9.1 percent in 2012.
