Colts Neck High School ROTC Wins Championship

The cadets will travel to Florida in April to compete in the national championship.

Colts Neck, NJ - Cadets from Colts Neck High School Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) were named champions at the NJROTC Area 4 Academic, Athletic, and Drill Championship on February 6 in New York.

The Colts Neck cadets competed against 14 sister NJROTC Units from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.

Next, the Colts Neck students — who were also Area 4 champions last year — will travel to Pensacola, FL in April for the Navy National Academic, Athletic, and Drill Championship.

“This group continues to impress. The naval science instructors and the student officers set high expectations, lead by example, and prepare the cadets to be accept nothing less than their best. These cadets meet that bar through hard work and commitment to one another and the unit as a whole. The Colts Neck High School NJROTC unit is a force to reckoned with on the national level. I am so proud of them!” said Colts Neck High School Principal Daniel D. Simon.

Freehold Regional High School District’s NJROTC Academy is a four-year leadership and character development program located at Colts Neck High School. The mission of the overall Navy Junior ROTC Program is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.
